

Dr. Kenny Terry was born to L.C. Terry and Artee “Red” Arnold Terry on October 26, 1959, in Terry, Mississippi. He was the eighth of ten children. His parents, three brothers, Edward, Sidney, and Harold Terry, and three sisters, Shirley Terry Woodley, Doris Terry McPherson, and Mamie Terry Smith, preceded him in death.
Kenny accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Wade M.B. Church in Terry, Mississippi. He loved his family and community and maintained a wide variety of friends throughout his lifetime.
An honor student, he attended Hinds County Public Schools and graduated from Terry High School in Terry, MS. After high school, he joined the Army and became a helicopter mechanic. This led to his twenty-year career as a supervisor with PHI Aviation, where he worked offshore repairing and maintaining helicopters. He loved working on engines and also opened a car repair shop in Houston, TX, while maintaining his full-time job with PHI. In the mid ‘90s, Kenny decided to change careers and switch from repairing engines to repairing people. His choice was to attend medical school. He started taking college courses at Texas Southern University in Houston, and later transferred to Jackson State University in Jackson, MS, where he received his BS degree. He attended Medical School at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He practiced as a Psychiatrist, treating adults and children at various Mental Health Facilities, both Inpatient and Outpatient. He was a Partner with Vogelfanger & Struble Psychiatric Associates.
Kenny leaves to cherish his memory, his wife DeRonda Terry, and two children, Ian and Olivia Terry of Collierville, TN; one brother, Donald Terry of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Laura (Michael) Lyles of Terry, MS, and Sandra Turner of Atlanta, GA; four brothers-in-law, Donald McPherson of Crystal Springs, MS, Cassel Smith of Terry, MS, Orlandus (Ronneshia) Bronner of Dallas, Tx; Derek (Kimberly) King of Olive Branch, MS; and one sister-in-law CoRonda (Jewel) Maclin of Memphis, Tn; one aunt, Cleola Arnold of Jackson, MS; Mother and Father-in-law, Paul and Louvadie King of Memphis, Tn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
