Larry A. Weatherford

Larry A. Weatherford, 73, of Collierville, passed away October 21, 2011, after a brief illness. A Celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 24, at Collierville Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Born September 16, 1938, in Purdy, TN, Larry served in the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War. He was a certified auto body technician with over 40 years experience, starting his career with Valley Chevrolet in Roswell, NM, and retiring from Bill Heard Chevrolet in Collierville in October 2001. Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Lois Weatherford. Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy J. Weatherford; his son, Gary A. Weatherford and his wife, Melinda; his daughter, Cheryl Lane Weatherford; two grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Weatherford and James Allen Aundre Weatherford, all of Collierville; and two sisters, June Martin and her husband, Wayne, of Collierville and Elizabeth Ann Castleman and her husband, Buddy, of Alamogordo, NM.
