Mary Catherine Brown

August 21, 1948 – February 14, 2026

Mary Catherine Rousseau Brown, a woman of incredible kindness and poise, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Fittingly, on a day dedicated to love, she was surrounded by her family who were the absolute center of her world.

Born on August 21, 1948, Cathy lived a life defined by her steadfast devotion to those she held dear. She was the cornerstone of her family, known for her warmth and the quiet strength she offered to everyone who knew her. A woman of many passions, she could often be found tending to her beautiful flower gardens or cheering on the Memphis Tigers football team. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.

Cathy was a dedicated professional, retiring after 35 years of loyal service to Carrier Corporation. Following her retirement, she and her husband, Larry Brown, embraced a spirit of adventure. Married for 59 years, their union was a shining example of enduring love and partnership. Together, they traveled across the USA and embarked on unforgettable cruises to Alaska and through the Panama Canal.

Above all, Cathy was a devoted grandmother. She never missed a chance to watch her granddaughter, Breanna, play volleyball, and she took immense pride in watching her grow into a beautiful young lady and an inspiring model.

Cathy is now reunited with those who went before her. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred L. Rousseau; her mother, Regina Miles Rousseau; her brother, Ronald L. Rousseau; and her beloved granddaughter, Amanda Shea.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her devoted husband, Larry; her three daughters and their families: Theresa Marie Buford and her husband Michael; Pamela Denise Campbell and her husband Randy; and Ruby Marlena Brown. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Breanna Marie Buford, and a wide circle of friends and family who were touched by her kindness.

Family and friends are invited to honor Mary Catherine’s life on March 10, 2026, at Collierville Funeral Home.

- Visitation: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

- Funeral Service: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

- Interment: Mary Catherine will be laid to her final rest at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
