Mary Ann Owen

16, 2024, at the age of 90.

She was born in Springfield. IL on October 21, 1933 to parents, Mary Fern and James Russell

Owen. She graduated from Lanphier High School. She spent the majority of her life as a

bookkeeper and lived in Springfield. In her retirement she moved to Memphis, TN to be closer to

family.

In Memphis, she was a member of Capleville United Methodist Church. She was a devoted

Christian and always a woman of profound faith. Her daughter was the light of her life and her

relationship with her siblings was cherished. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great

grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She touched the lives of so many people. She will

truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Fern and James Russell Owen, and her brothers

James R. Owen, Robert D. Owen, and R. William Owen. She is survived by her sister Sharon

(Richard) Rohrig, daughter Lisa Gallagher (Paul), Grandson Gregory Gallagher (Christen),

Granddaughter Kara Gallagher, and great grandchildren Mary Owen Gallagher and Richmond

Gallagher.

At Mary’s request her family will hold an intimate celebration of life in Springfield, IL at a later
