Mary Virginia Hamner Briggs passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 93. Mary was a member of Fisherville First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ikie Briggs and her sister Rubye Miller. She is survived by her Daughter Karen Trainum, her son Joe Briggs (Deborah), her grandchildren Lynn Hillstrom (Dan), John Trainum III (Jennifer), Michael Trainum (Brenda), Lynda Briggs, her great grandchildren Kayla, Garrett, John Michael, John IV. A visitation will be held at Fisherville Baptist Church Saturday, February 4th from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mary may be offered to Fisherville Baptist Church Cemetery.
