Michael Leon Mims

Michael Leon Mims, 65, died December 5, 2013, at his home in Collierville, TN. He was a native of South Carolina and joined the U.S. Navy construction batallion in 1968. After retirement from the U.S. Military in 1987, he served with the civialian service writing curriculum for the U.S. Navy. He spent many years living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast before moving to Tennessee. He was a very special person and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Mims; his mother, Dorothy Mims; his sisters, Linda Thompson and Pat Kull; his daughters, Candace Johnson and Maxine McAlexander; his sons, Michael Mims and Jeff Mims; son-in-law Jason Epperson; his cat Trixie and dogs Sammy and Tippy, and many beloved family and friends. The family will receive family and friends Monday, December 9, from 5-6pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 6pm, all at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W. Poplar Ave. Collierville, TN.
