Richard Charles Snyder

Richard Charles “Dick” Snyder Born December 7, 1938 in Cortland New York to William and Ethel Trumbull Snyder. Died January 21, 2012 in Collierville Tennessee due to complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was preceded in death by his parents ; his wife Anita Furiani Snyder; his twin brother Robert “Bob” Snyder, sister Shirley Snyder Simmons and nephew Lloyd “Skeeter“ Jones. Dick is survived by his wife of ten years June Snyder; son Michael Richard Snyder and daughter Lisa Mary Snyder, both of Maui, Hawaii; brothers William Snyder (Maureen) of North Andover, Massachusetts and John “Jack” Snyder (Anna) of Oneonta New York; Parents-in-law Charles and Ann Vaught of Barton Mississippi; eight sister-in-laws four brother-in-laws; five nephews and fourteen nieces who dearly loved their “Uncle Dick” Dick was raised in Oneonta and Sidney NY where he graduated Sidney Central High School and made numerous lifelong friends. He attended Broome Technical college and S.U.N.Y. and graduated with a degree in electronics. Dick served six years in the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam as an Air Control man. After discharge he served as the East Coast Sales Manager for Panasonic before founding an electronics manufacturing firm, Electronic Services International in Boca Raton, Florida. Dick has also worked in a variety of careers including as an Air Traffic Controller, Business Consultant and in car rental operations as a manager and consultant with Alamo, Avis, and Ford Motors. Dick was a thirty second degree mason, past President of the SKAL Club of Memphis, and supporter of numerous local charities. Visitation will be held Monday January 30, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Collierville Funeral Home and the Service will follow Tuesday January 31, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church of Cordova family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
