Robert "Bob" Wood

Robert Wayne Wood, 71, of Collierville, passed away on May 1, 2017. Born on September 17, 1945 in Glendale, CA, Bob was raised in Ely and Tonopah, Nevada. He proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was 17 years old. Bob was a Vietnam Veteran and served for 23 years. Following his military career, he worked for North Central Tool for 25 years. An avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, Bob had the privilege of riding with his son, Jason, in all states West of the Mississippi and also Canada. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father, Roy Wood; and his sister, Rita Bankhead. Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Wood; two sons, Kevin (Terrie) Wood of Carthage, NY and Jason (Lindsay) Wood of Lewisburg, MS; his mother, Gladys Wood of Anaheim Hills, CA; his brother, Danny (Kim) Wood of Anaheim Hills, CA; four grandchildren, Kevin Wood, Thomas Wood, Lila Wood, and Riley Wood; and three great granddaughters, Aubryana, Adrienne, and Adelynn. The family will gather to receive friends at Collierville Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 5, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Lasting memorials may be directed to Life Fellowship Church in Olive Branch, MS or the March of Dimes.
