Shirley graduated from Byhalia High School and married William Thomas Jamerson of Fisherville, Tennessee where they made their home. Shirley retired from Shelby County Schools after many joyful years as a teacher’s assistant. She was active in the Shelby County Election Commission, enjoyed square dancing and showing horses. She was an avid ready and an excellent cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Jamerson, her parents Hazel and Mitchell Miller; all of her brothers, Arthur, Alvis, Ralph, Robert and James Miller and her only sister Madeline Cooper.
Shirley leaves behind three sons, Gary Jamerson (Susan) of Byhalia Mississippi, Larry Jamerson (Meredith) of Collierville Tennessee and Steve Jamerson of Collierville Tennessee. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Megan Jamerson, Morgan Jamerson Cunningham, William “Zack” Jamerson, Adam Jamerson and two step granddaughters Suzanne Dement and Laura Tippit. In addition she leaves three great grandchildren Ryder, Jett and Olive Cunningham, two step great grandchildren Gage and Darcy Dement and her close friend Mr. Tommy Bagwell.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Fisherville First Baptist Church, 11893 Macon Rd., Eads, TN 38028, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 10-11 am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Fisherville First Baptist Church Cemetery.
