
WILLIAM SCOTT LOFTIN, 36, died Sunday, October 24th, at Methodist Hospital Germantown, where he was battling an infection do to an injury sustained last December. Scott was a 1999 graduate of Mississippi State University and an avid Bulldog fan. He loved hunting especially turkey, deer, and pheasant. Scott enjoyed farming at the Loftin family farm in Red Banks, MS. He also loved spending time with his many friends and large family. Scott leaves his wife, Julie Monk Loftin; son, William Walton Loftin (Will) and a daughter, Kate Scott Loftin. He was the son of Janice Scott Loftin Baker of Byhalia, MS and William Person Loftin, Jr. of Erin, TN. Scott had one sister, Kristen Loftin Wilson; nieces Ana Grace Wilson, Morgan Monk, and nephew Will Allen Wilson. He was the grandson of Essie Scott of Hernando, MS and the late Walton Scott; the late Peggy and William “Billy” Loftin of Red Banks, MS. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 26, from 4-7 p.m. at Collierville Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 27, at 10 a.m. at Holy Apostle Episcopal, 1380 Wolf River Blvd., Collierville, with burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, MS. The family request memorial gifts to the Will and Kate Scott Loftin Educational Trust at Citizens National Bank.
