Joan A. Boone

Joan A. Boone, 78, of Haddon Township, N.J. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert D. Boone.

Born in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Stella Lipka. Preceded in death by her dear son Robert Boone, she was the loving mother of Tracy (John) McGlynn and Christine (John) Tole. She was the adoring grandmother of John McGlynn, Jr., Andrew McGlynn, Julia McGlynn, Abigail Tole, and Ryan Tole. Joan is also survived by her sister Janet (Charles) Addis, niece Lori (James) Addis, nephew Mark (Tiffany) Addis, aunt Rita Lodise and many cousins.

Joan was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed a busy life raising her family, forming friendships, and supporting neighborhood clubs and activities. After her husband’s sudden death, she returned to the workforce in various positions at the Camden County Courthouse where she enjoyed much comradery until her retirement.

Joan was proud of her Polish heritage and maintained a connection to the Polish parish of St Joseph’s in Camden where she was raised. She had many friends and found much happiness in several close lifelong friendships from her childhood.

Joan loved her family and relished all occasions to be with them. She looked forward to family vacations with her sister and family at the shore. She enjoyed music-filled holiday gatherings with her many cousins. Joan most loved her role as Baci to her cherished grandchildren and was happiest planning special events for them, attending their activities, and showering them with hugs and kisses. BLAKE-DOYLE Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. A funeral mass will be held at a future date when circumstances allow.

Donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org).

I worked in the same office with Joan for many years. I am so grateful to have had her through those work hours. She was always available to help and have a laugh with. She enjoyed talking about memories, family and friends and I loved our conversations. One of a kind. She is greatly missed. Peace and love to the family during this difficult time.

With thoughts of love and best wishes,

I worked with Joan (Joanie) Boone (Boonie)….She'd answer to whatever we called her that day. She was always a pleasure to work with on a daily basis. I know how much she loved her kids and grandkids. Not a day would go by when she didn't mention them. You could always see a light in her eyes when she talked about them! May the family find peace and comfort while keeping her memories alive.

I first met Joan while working at RCA in Moorestown, NJ. I was a new employee & she welcomed me with open arms. We would all go out dancing & when she met Bob you could tell it was love between them. Joan invited me to the Polish America club in Camden, NJ & I decided I didn’t want to go because the weather was so nasty she persuaded me to go & that is where I met my husband Edward Reese. We all had a great evening. She & Bob we’re married in August, 1965 & our friend Pat was married in June 1965. Ed & I married in July 1966.
We continued our friendships & had lots of laughs with having children to talk about. . Unfortunately, Joans husband Bob passed away at a young age. Joan took over raising her family, working hard & never complaining. After moving to VA I would see Joan in NJ with our kids & enjoyed being together. We would talk on the phone over the years & we really enjoyed each other’s company. It was another heartbreak when Joans son Rob passed away. She was so strong during such a difficult time. I would send her chocolates at Christmas & she just loved that. I have wonderful memories of Joan & yes I too will miss her. 🙏

Joanie and I were lifelong friends. I met Joan when I was three and she was five. We have remained friends all these years although I live in CA. Joan had some rough patches in her life but you would not know it. She never complained. Want a definition of an angel,
it is Joanie. I will miss her terriblly.

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Boone. I know her family will miss her gentle and positive presence very much. She was always ready with a smile whether we [friends of her kids] were teenagers or moms ourselves seeing her at the grocery store or around town. Prayers that the memory of her goodness and happy times is a comfort to all of you.
