Johnny insisted not be referred to as the III (Third). He was his own man. His family moved to Collingswood in 1966 and adapted to the South Jersey lifestyle quickly. His Catholic School education helped him become the kind, good hearted man he was. Johnny was a private individual who loved his family greatly. It seems kindness came to John easily, but he would always stand his ground for what he thought was right!! Through life he could always be counted on to be a true friend. Johnny never could choose one direction, so he tried them all. The suburbs of Philadelphia could not strip Johnny's passion for his Phillies and EAGLES! His love for music and old time westerns nearly equaled his enthusiasm for sports. Nothing however could hold top billing to Johnny's unwavering support for the 'New Jersey Lottery'!! After many endeavors, Johnny retired from building maintenance at the Crown Plaza of Cherry Hill, NJ.
John is survived by his daughter, Destanee (Doug Bechtold) Walls, granddaughters; Taylor and Emma Bechtold, sister, Nancy Blakeslee, brother, Joseph (Beth) Walls, niece, Amy (Andy) Lazovitz, nephews, Matthew (Samantha) Blakeslee, Michael Walls (Meghan Finerfrock) and Nicholas Walls as well as other cousins, relatives and friends.
John was predeceased by his son John and brother Michael.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Blake-Doyle Funeral Home on Friday, March 8th at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in Johnny's honor.
