

Agnes Sylvia Grafton passed away April 15, 2022 after a prolonged illness. She passed away at the age of 87 years old. She was happily married to Richard Lee Grafton for 56 years. Agnes was the Daughter of Antonio and Andrea Martinez born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mother of seven children; Janis Noriega (Clemente), Jesus James Gonzales (Jesse and Kathy deceased), Jimmy Jesse Gonzales (twins), Sally Ann Bustamante, Judy Ann Rochna, Joy Christine Martinez (Mark), and Julie Olivas (Tom). She was blessed with 7 children, 19 Grandchildren, 38 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Her career started as a cook in a Mexican restaurant where she honed her culinary skills. She was a homemaker and spent most of her career as a personal caregiver. She worked for 30-plus years for the Matthew and Julia Wills family residence in Broadmoor, Colorado. She was also employed as a bartender at the Knob Hill Bar for seventeen years. She retired in 1996.
Agnes was a member of the FOE 3260 Auxiliary and held many positions in this capacity of great community and humanitarian service. The greatest joy of her life was caring for people. You could often find her frantically cooking her green chili and enchiladas, baking banana bread, cookies, and canning grape jelly to give out at Christmas making sure her friends had a gift of love from her every year.
She loved to play bingo and loved to take a day trip to Cripple Creek to gamble. Agnes loved cooking for her family and having fun filled holiday meals and events in her home. She kept an immaculate home ready to receive people at any time. It was a warm and caring home filled with love. She will truly be missed by all her loved ones.
