Anna Mae (Grubb) Vaeth

Born and raised in Noble, Illinois, Anna Mae lived in Washington DC near her sister before moving to Colorado in 1961. She met her husband David Vaeth on a blind date and they were married February 3, 1962. She lived her first two years of marriage in Craig, Colorado while David taught. They then bought 17 acres in Crystola, Colorado where they lived for the next 60 years. She worked at Paradise Estates in Woodland Park and The Chipeta Garden Inn while working on her bachelor's and master's degree in education at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Anna Mae began teaching as a substitute teacher in many districts finally finding a classroom in special education at Panorama Middle School in Harrison School District for 20 years. She loved her students, working and teaching, enjoyed supporting them and helping them to learn and succeed. She had a wonderful heart for special education.

She is proceed in death by her parents, her six older brothers and two older sisters. Also she is proceed in death by her husband of 58 years, David Vaeth. Anna Mae is survived by her son Alexander (Jennifer Mapes), daughter Victoria, son Carl and her only two grandchildren MaKenna and Kian.

No memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her memory.
