Ashley Marie Bartles, born Ashley Marie Crook on April 28, 1989 in Colorado Springs died unexpectedly October 23, 2014. She was a native Coloradan attending Skyway Elementary, Cheyenne Mountain Junior High and graduating from Cheyenne Mountain High School, on the Honor Roll in 2007.
In 2002, Ashley was honored as an Outstanding Youth Volunteer by the Daughters of the American Revolution after devoting 1000 plus volunteer hours at the Denver VA Medical Center.
Her love of animals and science led her towards a desire to be a veterinarian but after beginning studies at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) she decided to work towards a Nursing degree with the ultimate desire to work for the Department of Veterans Affairs. After completing all requirements for her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology at UCCS, Ashley decided to spread her wings and move to Texas, during the summer of 2012, to attend the University of Mary Hardin Baylor to study for an additional Degree in Nursing. While in Texas she became engaged to her now husband, Jason Bartles. Ashley decided to move back to Colorado Springs to be closer to Jason and her family, while finishing her Nursing Degree at UCCS. Ashley and Jason married on August 14, 2014.
During High School and College, Ashley worked at Tinseltown Theater and later at Wildwood Casino
Ashley loved being surrounded by her “four legged fur sisters”, her friends, but most of all her husband and family.
She will be loved for always and ever. And missed beyond all words. Our love for you will never fade and you will always be in our hearts.
Ashley is survived by husband Jason, Dad Kevin Crook, Mom Jeanne Crook and Brother Ryan Crook.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., Swan-Law Funeral Director’s.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ashley’s name to the Pikes Peak Humane Society.
