Bertha V. Karaska was born on June 18th, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Nora Masloveskas. Bert married the love of her life, George John Karaska Jr., on July 6th, 1946. Bert was a proud homemaker. She had worked outside of the home in many different areas and was proud to have participated as a Rosie The Riveter during World War II on PT Mustangs at North American in California.
Bert is preceded in death by her husband, George John Karaska, Jr.
Bert is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gale of Colorado Springs; son, George Karaska of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Joan Thornton and son-in-law Mikal Thornton of Schweinfurt, Germany and her grandchildren, George Paresa, Doug Paresa, Rachael Paresa, Deverie Martin, Jennifer Thornton, Stefani Thornton, Mallory Karaska, Ashlee Gale and Christopher Gale.
Bert will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10th, 2010 from 5-7pm and a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 11th, 2010 at 10:00am. Both will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel.
