

Betty Finley was born July 8, 1929 to Susie & Raymond Seendermann in Pueblo, Colorado.
Betty is survived by her husband Gerald (Jerry) Finley, daughter Gina Johnson, son-in-law Steve Johnson, sister Vivian Richardson, and sister’s in-law Lucy Facula and Francis Cunnington. In addition, Betty (Aunt Betty) is survived and was dearly loved by her 6 nieces and nephews, Judi (Mike) Tomlinson, Bruce (Jan) Richardson, Brian (Diane) Richardson, Brad (Rhonda) Richardson, Brent (Beth) Richardson, Barry (Kelly) Richardson and their children.
Her son, Jerry Finley Jr, precedes Betty in death.
Betty worked for Keller’s Jewelry store in Pueblo, Colorado while attending Central High School. After high school (1948) Betty enrolled in Pueblo Jr. College where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Business. While attending Pueblo Jr. College, Betty met the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Finley. They married on November 25, 1950.
Betty worked as a secretary for Mountain Bell in Pueblo, Colorado from 1951 – 1954. In 1964 Betty and Jerry moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1975 Betty worked for Aldersgate Church. Betty embarked on a new career in 1980 as a Legal Secretary. She worked in this field for 20 + years.
In addition to spending time with family and friends, some of Betty’s happiest times were traveling with her husband and dear friends Jim and Jan Traister. They visited Hawaii, Florida, South/North Carolina, Mexico, San Diego, New York, New Jersey and Washington, just to name a few. Betty loved her Colorado sports teams. She was an avid Denver Nuggets, Denver Rockies and Denver Bronco’s fan.
Betty was a devoted wife and loving mother. During her 80 years of life Betty developed many friendships. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved and special. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 21, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at Grace and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 601 N. Tejon, Colorado Springs, CO. Inurnment service will follow in the columbarium at Grace and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made honoring Betty to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite #600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
