Betty Lorraine Davis, a woman of deep faith, celebrated her new life in Heaven on November 25, 2025, after a long and courageous fight with metastatic breast cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held in the upcoming new year.
Born on May 16, 1964, at Penrose Main Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Betty was the youngest of four children born to Charles (Chuck) and Hildred (Roberts) Davis. She spent her formative years in Woodland Park, Colorado, where she graduated from Woodland Park High School. After attending Travel Agency School, Betty chose to pursue a different path that led her to a fulfilling life of family and service. Betty dedicated over 30 years of her career to Walmart, beginning in Belen, New Mexico, before transferring to Colorado Springs. She retired this past June. She married Peter Ward on May 9, 1998, in Veguita, New Mexico, and together they built a life filled with love and purpose. Betty was the proud and devoted mother of CJ Molina and Amy Ward.
Throughout her life, Betty pursued many passions. She was active in sports, 4-H, and possessed a remarkable talent for woodworking—most notably creating a beautiful rocking chair that earned the prestigious Grand Champion award at the Colorado State Fair. Growing up, Betty’s family often went camping and she continued this beloved tradition into adulthood. Betty also had a talent for crocheting and crafting. Those lucky enough to receive one of her handmade gifts knew how much love and care she poured into everything she created.
Betty will be remembered for her humility, kindness, compassion, loyalty, and the way she always put others first. With her beloved family, she was often silly and full of laughter. She cherished playing card games, like Uno and Nurtz, at family reunions with her daughter and siblings, cousins, or with her in-laws (especially Anita). Betty also entertained the younger great nieces and nephews with card games like Fish. She was adored by all!
Above all, Betty’s greatest legacy is her unwavering faith. Her relationship with God began in childhood and only grew stronger as she faced her battle with cancer. One of the greatest comforts to her family is knowing that she was the first among them to hug her father again after meeting Jesus.
Betty was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and Betty Davis, Freddie and Evelyn Roberts, and her father, Chuck Davis.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Peter Ward, her son, CJ Molina, her daughter, Amy Ward; her mother, Hildred Davis; her sister, Melda Musick; her brothers, Larry Davis (Rhonda) and Kenny Davis (Carolyn); her mother-in-law, Myra Ann Ward and in-laws: Natasha Jackson (Stanley), Tony Ward, Sonny Ward (Anita), Nicholas Ward, Priscilla Kratzer (Dana), and Michael Ward (Asia). She also leaves behind aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all who will forever cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory are welcome. Please send contributions to Hildred Davis, P.O. Box 619, Woodland Park, Colorado 80866. These gifts will be donated to the Common Spirit Charity supporting those facing financial hardship due to medical bills—a cause close to the family’s heart.
