Born on August 9, 1956, in Grand Junction, CO, to Albert J. Vogt and Joyce Dove Lupton Vogt, Beverly was their cherished only child. She grew up in Grand Junction, CO, Arizona, and Colorado Springs, CO, graduating from William J. Palmer High School in 1975.
Beverly married Ingo Schlender, and together they embraced a life shaped by his U.S. Army service, which took them across the globe. Their daughter, Tiffany Jessica Ann Schlender, was born in June 1982 in Colorado Springs, CO. The family later moved to Italy, where their son, Phoenix Mercutio, was born in April 1985 in Italy. They then moved to Germany and spent several years there.
Beverly’s passions included country music, line dancing, card games, and bingo, which brought her immense joy. She was a talented crafter, creating a variety of handmade treasures. Beverly was an active participant in the Rocky Mountain Ninja Special Olympics, competing in bowling and bocce ball, where her enthusiasm shone brightly.
Known for her warm and generous spirit, Beverly had a unique ability to connect with others. As a cashier at ARC retail stores, she delighted in meeting new people and brightening their day with her friendly demeanor. She cherished the friendships she built with residents in her apartment communities, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a moment of laughter.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Schlender; her son, Phoenix Mercutio; and many extended family members and beloved friends who will forever hold her kindness and vibrant spirit in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Joyce Vogt; her grandparents; and her aunt, Karen Cooper.
A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at Newsong Church on Wednesday October 22 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Special Olympics or a charity of your choice in Beverly’s memory.
Beverly’s legacy of love, generosity, and joy will live on in all who knew her.
