Carol R. Erickson

Carol Ruth Erickson ( 1924-2012)

Carol Ruth Erickson was born on October 17, 1924, to Clay and Gladys Potts in Stillwater, Okalahoma. She was married on January 20, 1950 to Lauren Erickson. Carol beagn her business carrer as a secretary to the head football coach at Rice Institute in Houston, Texas. She accompanied her husband Lauren to Denver where he was an engineer with Glenn L. Martin Company. Carol became secretary to the Denver Bears baseball team under Bob Howsom. She then became the first secretary for the newly accepted Denver Broncos into the AFL. She and Lauren were trnsferred to Connecticut, and came back to Denver in the late 1950's. After a few years at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, Carol and Lauren moved back to Colorado Springs in the mid 1960's where Carol became a secertary at Colorado College and worked until her retirement.

After a three month illness Carol died on Friday January 6, 2012, with her husband Lauren at her side. This was just fourteen days shy of their 62nd Anniversary. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Howard and Bob Potts, and a sister Helen Potts.

Carol is survived by her husband Lauren and her sister Marilynn Wilson of Temple, Texas and many loving nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
