

Carol Ann Hamill, 88, was born December 1, 1937, in New York, New York, and died May 2, 2026. A beloved and cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her, Carol will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection for her devotion to family, her faithful spirit, and the quiet wisdom and generosity she offered so naturally to others. She resided in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Raised in the Bronx, New York, Carol graduated from Monsignor Scanlon High School in the Bronx. She later attended Rio Hondo College, where she earned an associate’s degree in nursing and became a registered nurse at the age of 44—an accomplishment that reflected her courage, perseverance, and steadfast commitment to caring for others.
Carol’s professional life was marked by diligence and capable leadership. She ran the GI lab at Beverly Hospital for over ten years, serving with dedication until her retirement. In time, she moved to Colorado Springs, where she embraced the next season of life with the same steady grace that defined her throughout the years.
On June 21, 1958, Carol married Grant "Bud" R Hamill, Jr, in New York. In 1977, they moved to California, where Carol worked, and later moved to Colorado Springs for retirement. Their life together was one of devotion and shared companionship, and Carol’s love for her family remained a constant source of strength and comfort.
Carol found joy in simple, meaningful moments. She enjoyed working in her garden and sitting on the swing with Bud on the back deck. She also enjoyed listening to country music. In Colorado Springs, she valued connection and community, enjoying playing neuropong at the downtown YMCA with friends from the Parkinson’s support group—an example of her brave, steady spirit and her ability to bring warmth to those around her.
A long-time member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church Parish, Carol’s faith guided her life with constancy and purpose. She also served as Co-Chairman of the new member table for Colorado Parkinson Foundation, Inc, Colorado Springs Support Group monthly meetings, offering a welcoming presence and generous care to others.
Carol was preceded in death by husband, Grant “Bud”; daughter, Amy Robb; parents, Walter and Jane Dilberger; sister, Jane Monahan. She is survived by Daughter, Jane (Janie) Shore; grandchildren, Nicole Earl (Matthew), Bradley Shore (Megan), Nicholas Hamill, Jim Hamill, Kaylee Robb; 8 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. A loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Carol’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the lives she touched.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the doctors at UCHealth Primary Care Colorado Springs and at Anschutz Team of Neurology, Aurora, Colorado, and to Bristol Hospice, whose loving, kind, compassionate care made all the difference till the end.
Visitation will be held at St Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918, on May 12, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am. Carol will be laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd, Colorado Springs.
