Carolyn Joy Allen

Carolyn was born August 8th 1936 to parents Stanley and Lottie Rae in Denver Colorado. She grew up in Denver and Buffalo Creek, Colorado surrounded by five siblings including a twin brother. Carolyn loved living in the mountains, and raised her family in Indian Hills, Colorado. She moved to Colorado Springs after retiring in order to be closer to her sons and grandchildren.

Carolyn worked for a variety of companies during her life including Martin Marietta Aerospace, Coors Beverage and Safeco Insurance. She was a gifted typist and could type faster on a manual typewriter than most people can type on a keyboard.

Carolyn enjoyed playing piano, listening to old-time country music, reading western novels and watching the wildlife in her yard. Her favorite day of the week was Friday when she would have lunch with her sons.

Carolyn is survived by her sister Mary Jones, sons Mark and Gary, daughter in-law Renee, and grandchildren Taylor and MacKenzie.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Goodson Recreation Center Room, #4 6315 South University Boulevard, Centennial, CO 80121. Open House from 1:00PM-2:30PM and Celebration of Life from 2:30PM-3:30PM.
