After leaving the family farm Carolyn worked hard at a variety of jobs and independently supported herself and her son. She retired from Everbrite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1998. Following her retirement she moved to Colorado Springs to be near family. While in Colorado Springs she took great pride in her 13 years of volunteering at Memorial Hospital where she made numerous friends. She also enjoyed her Divine Redeemer Catholic Church community where she also volunteered. Carolyn loved her downtown Colorado Springs neighborhood home. She could be seen working in her yard or taking care of the plants in the nearby coffee shop, all the while greeting everyone that passed by.
Carolyn leaves behind her son Don Dolata, (Cindi), and four grandchildren, Christopher, Randy, Jenna, and Jonathan. She is also survived by nine of her twelve brothers and sisters, Dorothy Ziolkowski, Leona Piche, Roman Dolata, Leroy Dolata, Rosie Buechler, Danny Dolata, Toni Dondelinger, Linda Peterson, and Dolly Key as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 5:00 pm at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 927 N. Logan in Colorado Springs.
