Chad was born on March 1, 1977 in California to Thomas and Jacqueline Weltzien. Chad was the third child of four children, Travis, Matt and Katie. Growing up in California, they were home-schooled which gave them the opportunity to enjoy skateboarding, snowboarding and the beach.
In Junior High, Chad met Tracy at a church youth group. They remained friends until they started dating in 2001. They were married in Laguna Beach, California on September 9, 2006. Together, they raised a daughter, Hailey. They enjoyed her soccer games, cheerleading competitions, and watching her grow into a nurse and mother herself. Most importantly they enjoyed being grandparents to MaryGrace and the anticipated arrival of their grandson Lucas.
In the beginnings of their marriage, they opened up a BMW service and repair shop which provided them the opportunity to travel and enjoy many adventures. As a family they were seeking a slower lifestyle and decided to sell everything and move to Colorado. Moving to Colorado opened doors to new beginnings as well as making new friends which quickly became family.
Chad is survived by his devoted wife Tracy of 19 years; his loving daughter Hailey; precious grandchildren MaryGrace and Luke; his parents Tom and Jackie; siblings Travis, Matt, and Katie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Service for Chad will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
(Parking is available on the left side of the funeral home, as well as a large overflow parking lot toward the back of the funeral home.)
Thank you to our Colorado family for the endless love and support. Chad would be extremely touched knowing that his girls are loved and supported.
