With heavy hearts we share the news that Charles David Keller, better known as ‘Charlie’ or ‘Chuck’ or simply ‘Keller’, passed away on February 13th, 2025. Having just celebrated his 40th birthday, Charlie leaves behind his beloved daughter, as well as his sister and father. Born in New York state, Charlie spent the majority of his life in the Colorado Springs area. Charlie cultivated renown from a young age, spending most of his free time in gymnasiums around the country as he competed in Karate tournaments. Charlie’s exceptional performances would draw a crowd, as the first few notes of “Cotton Eye Joe” signalled that Charlie was in the arena and ready to give it his all.
It was no surprise to anyone when Charlie’s career path led him to a life of service as a first responder. Charlie joined the Eagle River Fire Protection District in 2008 and remained there throughout his career. Charlie was a magnetic individual, his broad grin coupled with an expanse of colorful tattoos brought him into the public eye. Charlie graced the pages of bodybuilding supplement ads and more than a few romance novels.
Charlie was deeply embedded in the Colorado Springs community as a real estate agent, a motorcycle fanatic, and a devoted PTA father. Undoubtedly, the light of Charlie’s life was his beloved daughter, who shares his love of cars, performance arts, and his kind heart.
A celebration of life will be held at Life.Church Colorado Springs 9306 Grand Cordera Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80924 on February 20th at 10:00am. A livestream of the memorial can be accessed here: https://evt.live/charlie-david-keller-celebration-of-life
