Colorado Springs -- Christa Dorothea Griffin, of Colorado Springs, Colorado died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her home after a long fight against Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
Born in St. Wendel, Germany, February 13, 1944, to Willie and Hildegard Adamsky; preceded in death by her brother, Horst Adamsky. Christa moved to the United States in 1965, and settled in Colorado Springs in 1978. Christa was an avid outdoor adventurer who loved to go camping and hiking in the mountains of Colorado. Christa was passionate about her career as a florist, her garden and her family.
Christa is survived by her husband of 47 years, Archie Leonard Griffin (retired Army) formerly of Calhoun, Georgia; her daughters Jeanie Helen Buxton, of Tucson, Arizona; Margareth Maria Griffin, Woodbridge, Virginia; sons, Lonnie Lee Griffin, Peyton, Colorado; Ronnie Lee Griffin, Colorado Springs, Colorado, son-in-law, Ezell Buxton, Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren, Christa Corrine (Buxton) Wilkes, Tucson, Arizona; James Edward Griffin, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Lynda Marie Griffin, Sacramento, California; Christopher Ezell Buxton, Tucson, Arizona; Samantha Anne Crane, Colorado Springs, Colorado and great grandchild Jaida Chanel Wilkes, Tucson, Arizona.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM June 24, 2011 at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
