Born on July 26, 1963, in Newport News, Virginia, to Alice Ulibarry Espinosa and Paul Eugene Izenberg, CJ came into this world with the bold spirit of a true Leo - strong, loving, and fiercely loyal to those she loved. She carried that proud lion energy throughout her life, leading with heart and humor in equal measure.
CJ spent most of her life in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she found peace in the mountains and joy in every sunset. Her passions were as vibrant as she was - from cooking and music to classic films, playing softball, and bringing her competitive flair to the family’s salsa contest. She cheered loudly along with her grandson for the Green Bay Packers, laughed often, and loved even harder - especially when surrounded by her family, friends, and her beloved dog, Susie Q.
She is survived by her mother, Alice Ulibarry Espinosa, Matthew Izenberg (brother), Ellen “Hope” Espinosa (sister), Heather Eloise Fuller (daughter) and partner Matthew Gutting, Timmothy Jay Fuller, (son), Shy-Lynne Izenberg (daughter), and her grandchildren Nathan, Weyland G. Willow G., and Jaxon I.
CJ’s humor, warmth, and light will continue to shine through every story told, every sunset admired, and every time laughter fills the room.
Mom, may your angels guide you to eternal happiness as you watch over your loved ones and smile knowing they live each day carrying your love and memory in their hearts and living in your honor.
Services will be held at a later date to be announced.
