Cinda "Cindy" Lee Dunn

Cinda Lee Dunn (Cindy), age 76 years old, loving mother of 4, proud grandmother of 7, and devoted wife of 56 years to Jeff, passed away on the morning of May 7, 2022, after a challenging battle with dementia.

Cindy was born November 10, 1945, in Elkhart, Kansas, where she grew up on the family farm. After graduation from high school, Cindy attended Washburn University, where she met the love of her life, Jeffry P. Dunn. Cindy and Jeff lived in Brooklyn, Denver, and Evergreen, Colorado before settling in Colorado Springs in 1980, where they planted their strong roots in the community. Cindy was heavily involved with her children’s school and activities, the PTO, Colorado Springs Fine Art Center, Pikes Peak PEO, and anything involving her children and grandchildren.

Cindy will be remembered for her infectious laugh, love of children and babies, her famous chocolate chip cookies and fried chicken, and her loyalty and devotion to all she loved. In her free time, Cindy loved cheering on KU basketball, spending time at their family cabin in Cuchara, walking with her friends, reading a good book, dancing, enjoying all that Colorado has to offer, and spending time with her family and friends.

Cindy is survived by her sister Janice K. Curtis, her husband, Jeffry P. Dunn, her children Cassie D. Gannett (Toby, Brady, Cory, Rylie), Ryan C. Dunn (Dawn, Lucas, Gabriel), Carrie D. Clarke (Brendan, Mikayla, Ashlyn) and Katie D. Stewart (Scott).

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia A. Crawley, and Clarence W. Crawley.

Cindy’s family is most appreciative of the outpouring of care and support for Cindy, especially over these past few years. We are all comforted to know she is now laughing and dancing in a better place.

Celebration of Life for Cindy will be held on May 20, 2022, at 1 pm with a reception to follow at the Otto Fellowship Hall (downstairs) of Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
