David “Dave” A. M. K. Kuamoo died in his sleep at home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. He was born in Hilo, Hawaii, December 1, 1952 to the late Herbert and Gladys Kuamoo. Upon graduation from high school in 1970, he joined the U. S. Army. He served in Vietnam and was highly decorated for his service there. After leaving the military, he settled in Colorado Springs where he was a reserve officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department before becoming a sworn patrolman in July 1978. Dave retired from the CSPD in late 1991. After retiring, he became a volunteer with the Pikes Peak Library District and helped with several Pikes Peak Writers Conferences in the 1990s. Dave was known for his friendliness and generosity. He loved to give presents and often carried things just to have something to give away. He is survived by his wife Nina Rikoski, daughter Courtney Ann Baggett, stepchildren Richard and Jennifer Rikoski, and sister Debra Kuamoo. Due to the pandemic, a memorial service with family and friends will be held at a later time.
