
Dean Albert Barker, 82, passed away on June 21, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Colby, Kansas in 1932. Dean was preceded in death by his Mother Wilma, Father Howard, Wife of 60 years Marcia and Daughter Heather. He is survived by his Daughter Debra and Sons, Mark and Daniel, 11 Grandchildren, and many Great Grandchildren.
Dean served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from1952-1955. Following his service, he studied at Barnes School of Business. After College, Dean returned to Colby, Kansas and began working for his Father at Barker Motor Company, a Ford Dealership. Dean later owned an independent auto parts store, a Texaco Service Station and an independent auto repair business.
Dean deeply loved his family and took his greatest joy from spending time with them. Dean was a disciple of Jesus Christ and a Member of the First Christian church in Colorado Springs for many years.
Dean was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church Colorado Springs, Colorado.
