2017, as Deanna "Sunny" Lane went to join her mother in Heaven.
Sunny was born August 4, 1960 in Lamesa, Texas to Bill and Peggy Lane. She
graduated from Ada High School in 1978, earned her Bachelors degree from
Oklahoma Baptist University, and then completed her education with a Masters in
Human Resources from East Central University in Ada, OK.
Sunny spent her life helping others. In her professional life, she found her calling
first as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, helping people with physical and
other disabilities find meaningful work, and currently as a supervisor at
the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. In her personal life, she was
unflinchingly generous with her time, resources, and love. She loved her family,
being "Grammie", riding motorcycles (as a passenger only!), singing karaoke,
reading books (and writing her own novel). Sunny is survived by her
father, Bill Lane; her sister, Deretta Austin and family - Pete Austin, Matthew &
Chelsea Thompson, Lauren Thompson & Steven Bayliss, Jeff Austin, Hope Rhoads,
Maverick Rhoads, and Lake Bayliss; her sister, Lisa Lane; her brother, Robert Lane;
her son, Josh McBroom and family - Amanda McBroom& Jaxon McBroom; her son,
Sean McBroom; and numerous other family, cousins, friends, coworkers,
and other people who loved her very very much. Loved by so many, Sunny
will be sorely missed - we hope you have found peace. A celebration of Sunny's life
will take place at 4pm on Tuesday, April 18th at Swan-Law Funeral Home
(501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado, Springs).
