

Dennie Cordell Carey passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2017, in Colorado Springs, CO. at the age of sixty-eight. He was the beloved husband of Cindi Carey sharing thirty-two wonderful years of marriage. Born in Canon City, CO., he was the son of Howard and Elizabeth Carey. He graduated from the University of Southern Colorado. Dennie retired from FedEx Corporation as Senior VP of Marketing of FedEx Services. He was also Chairman of the Board of the Rise Foundation in Memphis, TN. and on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army in Colorado Springs, CO.
He loved golf, tennis, fishing, travel, and fine dining. Dennie will be remembered for his love of life, great sense of humor, beautiful smile, generosity, love of family and friends, and encouraging others to succeed.
Dennie is survived by his loving wife Cindi Carey, son Craig Anderson, daughter-in-law Jena Anderson, grandchildren Lexi and Dalton Anderson. Other family members include his brother Brent Carey and sister-in-law Sharon Carey, his sister Linda Emory and brother-in-law Larry Emory, his brother Clinton Carey and sister-in-law Kathi Carey, brother Scot Carey and sister-in-law Brenda Carey, sister-in-law Suzi Lewis and brother-in-law Jack Lewis, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother Howard and Elizabeth Carey.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, July 14th, 2017, at 6:00 pm, with Father Don Armstrong officiating, at The Pinery on the Hill, 775 West Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, CO. 80905, with reception following.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Rise Foundation in Memphis, TN. or the Salvation Army, Colorado Springs, CO.
