Donald Fruh, a cherished patriarch, devoted father, and proud navy veteran, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 15th, 2023. Born in Denver in 1939, Donald's life was an embodiment of resilience, love, and the service of others.
Donald honorably served his country in the Navy after graduating from South High School. Following his service, he helped work on groundbreaking aerospace projects as an aeronautical engineer at TRW and Beech Aircraft.
Beyond his professional achievements, Donald's life was marked by the deep love he held for his family. He was a devoted husband to the late June Golden Fruh and a loving father to his children, including his daughter Dawn Hill (Scott), who preceded him in death. His legacy is also carried forward by his daughter Deborah (Steve) Calandrella and sons Dennis (Charlotte) and David (Diana) Fruh. The love and lessons he imparted to them continue to reverberate through the lives of his 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Donald's spirit was characterized by a quiet strength, a trait he imparted to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, wisdom, and stories will be sorely missed, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the tales they'll continue to share.
In respect of Donald's wishes, there will be no public service. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Marion House. As we remember Donald, let us reflect on a life lived with purpose, honor, and unyielding love. Rest in peace, Donald. You will forever be in our hearts.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.memorialgardensfuneralhome.com for the Fruh family.
