Donald Joseph Fuhrman

Donald Joseph Fuhrman passed away June 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Don was born on June 25, 1948, in Middletown Ohio to Elsie Mae and Paul William Fuhrman. Don grew up in Middletown Ohio with his older siblings Tom and Mary Ellen.

He enlisted in the US. Army in 1968 and served his country during the Vietnam war. Don was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs CO. He met Diana Montoya in Manitou Springs and they married on October 31, 1970. They had two daughters, Lynn Elaine and Courtney Suzanne Fuhrman. Don worked on Fort Carson for the US. Army Civil Service as the Chief of Base Operations Division, Director of Public Works for over 36 years and was also the Honorary Fire Chief of Fort Carson CO Army Base.

After retiring Don was an avid pool player and loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. His travels took him to Greece and on many occasions Kona Hawaii with his girlfriend Luana Jacobsen. He was a member of BPOE, ELKS VFW Lodge #309. Don is preceded in death by his parents Paul William Fuhrman and Elsie Mae Fuhrman. He is survived by his daughters Lynn Elaine and Courtney Suzanne Fuhrman both from Colorado Springs CO, his brother Tom Fuhrman and sister Mary Ellen Officer.

Services will be held Wednesday June 25, 2025 11:00am at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 with a reception to follow. A Columbarium Inurnment will be held Thursday June 26, 2025 at 10am at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
