

Elisha “David” Roberts, of Colorado Springs, passed away on July 22, 2011. David was born on March 2, 1953 in Sylvania, Georgia to the late Mr. Raleigh Roberts, Sr. and Mrs. Rachel Lucille (Evans) Roberts. David attended public schools and graduated from the Screven High School in 1971.
He attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, from which he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in mathematics. Being a connoisseur of education, he attended Georgia Southern University, Chapman University, Clark College, and in 1983, he received a Master’s Degree from Atlanta University, in Atlanta, Georgia. While attending college, he met the love of his life, Pekola Fleming. The two were married on November 22, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia.
When God called Pekola to join the military as a Chaplain, David and the children came along. Together for over 25 years they have traveled the world. David was an Educator as well as an Entrepreneur. He taught many young people the art of Mathematics worldwide.
David is survived by his wife, Chaplain (Dr.) Pekola Roberts; children, Elisha David (Eddie) Roberts, Jr., and Davola LaTrese (Baby Girl) Roberts-Welch, (Johnell Welch). He is also survived by two grandchildren, Johnell (JD) Welch, Jr. and JaiLani Welch as well as nine siblings. He is preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
