Elizabeth Jean Davidson was born May 27, 1934, in LaJunta, CO to Walter and Helen Davidson. E. Jean Davidson was the first child with one brother, John Davidson, to follow. Jean was an avid reader growing up near LaJunta and while living on Colorado Springs. The Davidson family attended church at First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs.
At FBC, Jean met her future husband and Jean Davidson married Albert Fero in 1953. They had two daughters. The family was active at First Baptist Church.
Jean was a homemaker and helped with her husband’s business. She also remained an active member with FBC until her death. She considered FBC as her second family and had many long-time friends throughout the years. She also enjoyed family gatherings with three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was the ultimate caregiver throughout her adult life, caring for her husband and two daughters, her parents and a great-aunt. In her spare time, she sent cards and visited homebound church members. She eventually took on the role of church historian/archivist and loved sharing stories and facts about the church with the pastoral staff through the years.
Jean Fero is survived by brother, John Davidson, of Culver City, CA, and his family; and both daughters, Beth Papia and Sheila Romero, and their families. Jean Fero is preceded in passing by her husband, Albert Fero, in 1995.
Services will be held January 6, 2025, at 10:00 at Memorial Gardens Chapel with a graveside service for the family afterward.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs or Pikes Peak Hospice.
