Elizabeth Grzecka Johnson was born to Teresa and Jeffrey Grzecka in Yokota Japan on June 1st, 1978. Liz and her family moved from city to city growing up, but she spent most of her childhood in Widefield, Colorado. In 1998, Liz married, and together they had five beautiful children: Nate, Dominic, Mackenzie, Stryker, and Peyton. Eventually they moved back to Colorado and she attended cosmetology school.
Liz was a mom that truly lived for her kids. One of her greatest joys was watching them play sports, it brought her pride and happiness. She constantly made sacrifices for her children, even homeschooling them for a period of time. Liz was always ready to take on more. In 2011, Liz and her siblings, Nic and Amanda, started their business YoYogurt from scratch. Liz was determined to succeed at everything she did and through it all she made time for joy and laughter. She pushed herself in everything she did. She excelled at Crossfit and loved the community of athletes. She had high expectations and pushed those around her. Liz loved people from every walk of life; prim and proper, crazy and wild, Liz loved us all. She was a loyal friend and loved unconditionally. In all circumstances she was hopeful and positive. She loved Jesus and sought him throughout her life. The challenges of the last years of Liz’s life were incomprehensible to most, but she remained unbreakable through it all. She will be missed by so many and we are all better for having known her. So we celebrate her life, the way she would have wanted us to. She is finally at peace. Her body, mind and soul are free of pain, and now she dances with her daddy in heaven.
Services will be held 11:00AM (seating at 10:30) Saturday, June 6th at Shove Chapel 1010 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903
