

Ellen Louise Loetscher was born on April 8th, 1931 in Moberly Missouri to Leo LeRoy Sullivan and Irene (McKeighan) Sullivan. Ellen was the oldest of three children Ellen Louise, James Richard and Mary Elizabeth.
Ellen was baptized in Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Moberly she attended elementary school at the Loretto Academy in Moberly and finished 9th-12th grade at Moberly Jr College. Ellen received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Northeast Missouri Teachers College in Kirksville, Missouri (Truman State University).
Ellen moved to Colorado Springs seeking adventure at the foot of the Rockies. Ellen taught third grade at Broadmoor Elementary and met the man she would share her life with at a St. Mary's Church function for single adults.
Ellen Married James "Jim" Loetscher of Colorado Springs in Moberly Missouri on June 29th 1957. The newlywed couple returned to Colorado Springs and together they raised four children: Mary Ann, Elizabeth Ann, John Joseph and Leo Paul. Ellen loved to spend time with her family and being a mom. Ellen taught catechism at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, was active on the Parish Council, and the Little Parishes. Ellen worked for a few years, for fun and friendship, at the Hidden Inn visitors center nestled in the Garden of the Gods until it closed in 1996.
Ellen's family grew to include Mary and Ken (Franek) of Lakewood CO and their children Irene, Katie, Kendra and Chadd. Beth and Craig (Shafer) of Boulder CO, Joe and Melanie (Marsden) of Colorado Springs and their children Delaney and Casey, Paul and Jen (Tracey) of Madison WI and their children Max and Sam. Ellen also has three great grandchildren Rhylynn, Noah and Raeann.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Elizabeth, her husband James Anthony (Jim) and three children who died in infancy; David James, Mary Jane, and James Anthony Jr. Ellen will be remembered for her dedication to her family, church and being a good mother who did her job well.
