Etta “Marie” Jameson, born on December 6th 1932 to Eugene “Debs” and Effie Viola Baker, has reunited with her family and friends in heaven on June 2, 2020. Marie passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with breast and uterine cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family. Born and raised in Boise City, Oklahoma, Marie moved to Colorado in 1964. Since her move to Colorado, she had made many accomplishments such as being a school bus driver for 43 years for Miami-Yoder school district, and also owned and operated her ranch in Rush, Colorado. Another major accomplish she conquered was battling and winning against Lymphoma, Colon, and Thyroid cancer. Marie’s fighting spirit, optimism, and Christian faith made it irresistible to not want to be around her.
Marie’s pride and joy was her family. She was a sister to five. She gave birth to five children, was the grandmother of ten grandchildren, and was a great-grandmother of sixteen. She had immense pride in her children and grandchildren's accomplishments and was always rooting them on. Marie loved being outdoors and gardening, and had the best green thumb when it came to growing her tomatoes and flowers. She loved hummingbirds, the color red, roses, old black and white western shows (John Wayne and Matt Dillion really put a smile on her face), and loved collecting things whenever she could. Marie also loved to give to charities and believed in making a difference.
Marie is survived by her brother Ray (Beverly) Baker, her children Olen (Deb) Jameson, Carol (Terry) McCune, Barb (Floyd) Hatton, and Larry (Lorri) Jameson, her ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Donald Wayne Jameson, her parents Eugene “Debs” and Effie Viola Baker, and her siblings; Eugene Baker, Roy Baker, Wanda Mizer, and Eunice Wilson.
Marie’s funeral will be held at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 12th, 2020 at 10am. In honor of Marie’s giving spirit, in lieu of flowers please donate to:
