Gene Ray Annis

Gene Annis, 87, passed away Monday, March 13th, in Colorado Springs. He was born on May 25, 1929 in Abilene Kansas, the son of D.R. and Helen Annis. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1948. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1953, and remained there until his death. He loved the mountains, and his favorite activity was big game hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marie Michaels; two brothers, Carl Annis and Wayne Annis; a grandson, Derek Swarts; and a step-son, Ed Hearne. He is survived by one brother, Dean Annis of Abilene, Kansas; wife, Bea Hearne of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Dianne (Scott) Carnahan of Colorado Springs and Cindy Swarts of Abilene, Kansas; a son Steve (Tess) Annis of Lakewood, Colorado; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one step-daughter; four step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials in his name be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill St., Colorado Springs, CO 80906.

A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Lamp Lighter Mobile Home Park Community Room. 3280 S. Academy Blvd.
