He was born in Long Branch, NJ on April 7, 1955. George was working towards his PhD in Strategic Security. He earned his MA at the University of Maryland and his BA at Glassboro State.
George was an active duty officer in the Air Force for 25 years, including time as a B-52 Navigator/Electronic Warfare Officer, an instructor at the Air Force Academy and as Assistant Director of Operations during a remote tour in South Korea. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and became a military analyst for the Department of Army.
He had a passion for learning, camping, the Broncos, and spending time with the family.
George is survived by his loving wife Jane Luker (Kinnarney); children: Casey Luker, Travers Luker and wife, Kaitlin; and Blair Kirmeier and husband, Peter; and his precious grandchildren: Seton (6), Eva (5), Axl (5), Henry (4), Fiona (3), and Maeve (9 months). He is predeceased by his brother, Richard Luker, and parents, Eva and Malcolm Luker.
Due to the local current social distancing recommendations, viewing and burial are private. Full military honors at Pikes Peak National Cemetery and a celebration of life party will be scheduled when such gatherings are once again permitted.
