Gloria Jean Larson

Gloria Jean Larson, age 81, of Security, Colorado, passed away on February 22, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of the Colorado Springs area. She is survived by her sister, Linda Mearns, her brother Roy Larson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Dallas Larson, and her brother Larry Larson.

Gloria graduated from Widefield High School in 1962. After high school she became an X ray tech and later was employed by Compassion International in their IT department. Gloria became a part of their mission to help children in need around the world by sponsoring several children. In her spare time, she enjoyed photography and was quite gifted at it. She was also an animal lover who fed and cared for many community cats over the years.

As a member of First Presbyterian Church, she belonged to the Knit and Chat group who made shawls which were then distributed to members who were in the hospital or had lost loved ones.

The family sends its gratitude to both the staff at Garden Ranch Assisted Living and Abode Hospice for their exceptional care and support.

In lieu of a memorial service, the family asks that you honor Gloria in your own way.
