Guy Tyrene Simms

Church service followed by a Celebration of life will be held Saturday February 13th, 2021.

Guy was born November 21st, 1983 in Lincoln Nebraska to Kathy and Melvin Simms. Guy could accomplish anything he set his mind to. From a very early age he was taking things apart just to see how they worked then would put them back together again. Even into adulthood, this didn't change. Instead of taking apart toasters, he was taking apart cars, motorcycles and various engines.

He was brilliant when it came to automotive repair and so willing to make sure people did not get taken advantage of by the basic mechanics shop. He would go out of his way to make sure his family and friends had a safe vehicle to drive even if he took a loss on the repair. He was a giving person in that way. His work normally included mechanical work of some sort. His most recent job was with a drilling company. Even then he found opportunities to assist the company with their own vehicle maintenance.

Guy will always be remembered as the most giving and selfless soul we have known. It was never about what he wanted, it was about what he could do to make someone else happy.

Guy is survived by his mother, Kathy; father, Mel; brother, Bo; sister, Jessica; sister in law Sarah and brother in law Brian. He had many friends he also considered family such as his brother from another mother, Jim and his wife Danin and long time friend and high school sweetheart, Judy. He was an uncle to Abby, Noah, Dominic, Geovani and Becca. He was the father figure to Sierra, Serenity and to Judy’s children as well. There are so many others, too many to name but they will carry Guy's memory for the rest of their lives selflessly because Guy touched us all.

Guy is preceded in death by his brother Allen, his second mom Joann and all of his many grandparents.

Memorial donations will be made in Guy's name to JDRF, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
