H. Edward ED Tickel

H. Edward Tickel, 71 of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away surrounded by his family. Ed was born in Washington D.C. Preceded in death were his parents Herman E. and Lila Lee Land Tickel of Weldon, N. C. Ed was married to Elizabeth Vaclav Tickel and have two children, Christina D. Tickel and Zachary A. Tickel. Other surviving family members include, one sister and her spouse Dr. Bert and Diane Tickel Warren and also two daughters and their spouses from a previous marriage Dr. William and Toni Tickel Branner and Dr. Douglas and Tamara Tickel Shusterman, and 4 grandchildren. Ed was an alumni of George Washington University, Henderson State University, University of North Carolina, and North Carolina State University with degrees ranging from Pre-Veterinarian Animal Science, Bachelor of Science ( Chemistry/Biology Major; Psychology minor) and a Masters of Science (Forensics). He Followed his fathers footsteps into the FBI becoming a Special Agent Supervisor. He also held lock patents, was involved in boat and NASCAR racing, he had a deep love for all animals and he loved to be at the lake. He was a past president of the Pikes Peak Tennis Association, he received his contractors license and thoroughly loved building houses as well as being an award winning Real Estate Broker in the Pikes Peak Region. Ed never met a stranger, and as he was often heard to say "If I don't have it, you don't need it" and "I can fix anything but a broken heart."

A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2012. From 4-6pm at Swan Law Funeral Directors 501 N. Cascade Ave. A rosary will also held at Swan Law Funeral Directors On Wednesday March 7, 2012 at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Thursday March 8, 2012 Corpus Christi Catholic Church 2320 N. Cascade Ave Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. Mr. Tickel, will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that memorial contributions be made in the name of H.Edward Tichel to both St. Mary's High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and The Rocky Mountain Cancer Center Colorado Springs, Colorado
