mother, grandmother and friend. She never ceased to be amazed by the little things in life,
everything was always “unbelievable!” She approached life with childlike wonder and
amazement. Harriet loved her family more than anything else, she always wanted to be a
mother; this was her self proclaimed most important accomplishment and she was thrilled by
being a grandmother as well. She saw her grandchildren especially through rose-colored
glasses and always told them how she thought the world of them. She is survived by her brother
Warren Levy, two of her four children, Jennifer Schafer and Kevin Haddad and her many
grandchildren; Frank Christenson, Brittany Jenkins, Chloe Haddad, Zoe Haddad, and Ryan,
Ross, and Evan Schafer. Harriet enjoyed the little things in life and appreciated everything that
people did for her. She loved animals, especially cats! She loved indulging in sweet treats,
chocolate being her favorite and spending quality time with her family.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1925 and grew up there. After moving to California in her
late teens; Harriet met and then married the love of her life, Frank Christiansan on February
21,1943 at the age of 17. Harriet was carrying her first child when Frank gave his life for his
country in WWII but Harriet carried him in her heart for the rest of her life. There will be no
memorial service, but we hope that everyone who had a connection to Harriet can take some
time in their day to marvel at the small things that seem “unbelievable!” Her family will strive to
honor her memory by doing the same.
If desired, we ask that memorial contributions be made to the Colorado Veterans Project.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Swan-Law.com for the Michaels family.
