Helen Peacefully entered into the presence of our Lord on June 25, 2024. Helen was born to Leroy and Agnes Modlin on March 27, 1933 in Burr Oak, Ks. Helen with sister Evelyn Marvin completed the family.
Helen graduated in 1951 from Fowler High School, she went on to attain a Associates Degree from Pueblo
Junior College in 1953 she then went on to UNC Greely and attained her BA and Masters in Business Education to finish out her education in 1957. Helen began her teaching career at Palmer High School from 1957 to 1965 where she moved to newly constructed Mitchell High School in 1965 and became Department Head in 1969 until retiring in 1983. Helen then went to PPCC to teach part - time until 1990.
Helen was a member of First Baptist Church since 1960 where she formed life long friendships as well as joyfully served on many committees over the years and was active in several groups.
Helen was married for 49 years to her Highschool sweetheart Ronald Switser before his passing in 2005, their union produced daughter Suzanne.
Helen is survived by daughter Suzanne (Jeff) Lance grandchildren Amanda Lance and Justin (Samantha) Lance, great grandson Haysyn Lance and sister in law Mary Switser. Proceeded in death by husband Ronald Switser, parents Leroy and Agnes Modlin, sister and brother in law Evelyn and Doyle Marvin, parents in law Ora and Pauline Switser, Brother in law and sister in law Milford and Joyce Switser, brother in law Warren Switser and nephew Phillip Switser.
Helen's going home celebration will be held at First Baptist Church, Kiowa St. at 1:00 pm on July 13, 2024.
