Jack was born in La Junta, CO on August 3, 1956 to Gene and Elinor Pope. Gene tragically passed away when Jack was 7 years old. Jack's mother married Dave Beaty a few years later, who adopted both Jack and his older brother (Joe) and truly was “Dad” to him.
Jack married the love of his life, Patricia (Patti), March 3, 1979. Always known for his sense of humor, when asked how many years he and Patti were married, he generally replied he wasn’t exactly sure but Moses was at the wedding. They had 3 children Dave (Jenny), Jennifer “Spud” (Steve), and Heath (Melissa). At the time of his death, he was blessed to have 10 grandchildren.
Jack wore many hats, earning several graduate degrees in both business and finance, as well as a Doctorate in Ministry, held several professional certifications, and was an Ordained Minister. He worked in for-profit, as well as non-profit businesses for over 40 years, served as both a reserve Police Officer and Police Chaplain for over 28 years, and had numerous years of service to the church and church security.
Raised in the ranching and trucking business, Jack was a 5th generation Colorado native and although his career required several transfers/relocations in and out of the state, including stops in St. Louis and Boston, Colorado was always his earthly home.
In Jacks own words, “In my life’s journey I climbed many ladders only to find they were leaning against the wrong wall. Then I came to know Jesus Christ and, although the journey didn’t necessarily get any smoother, the destination became clear and true. I am thankful and blessed to have been able to be a servant of the most High God.” Jack's farewell to all would be, “Always trust God and remember to keep your thumb up when you dally.”
Survivors include Son David (Jenniffer), Daughter Jennifer “Spud” (Steve), Grandchildren Jonathan, Colin, Steven and Ainhoa of Colorado Springs. Grandchildren Hayden, Madison, Travis, Ryan, Laney, and Davie Lee of Massachusetts. Brother Joe (KC) Pope. Several Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife Patti, his parents and son Heath.
For the service, the family requests everyone wear their favorite Bronco or football jersey.
