

Mrs. Jessie W. DeLuca, 86, passed away on August 8, 2013. Jessie was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to John Livingstone and Jeanie Christie on September 20, 1926.
Jessie grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, and graduated from John Street Secondary School in Bridgeton. She worked in the W.D.H. Wills Factory to support Allied War efforts during WWII. On her 21st birthday, Jessie sailed on the Queen Mary to the United States. She spent one year with the Eden family in New Jersey where she met her husband of 64 years, Harold J. DeLuca. They were married on the 30th of June, 1948, in Newark, New Jersey. During her life, Jessie supported her husband while he served in the United States Armed Forces. She volunteered for the American Red Cross at numerous Air Force Bases and in later life at her church. She was an active member of the British and Scottish Wives Clubs of Colorado Springs. She loved to travel with her family and spent many holidays in Scotland with her sisters.
She is survived by her twin daughters Bonnie Dalbey and Barbara Tillman, her son Russell DeLuca, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Catherine and Aileen Livingstone.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Doctors Lemley, Chambers, Murphy, DeCarolis, Tanner, and Hatchell for their professional care during her battle with lung cancer and to Pikes Peak Hospice for their loving care during the last week of her life.
There will be a Memorial Service at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1529 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, CO at 11:00a.m. on the 16th of August, 2013, to celebrate the life of this loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister of the “Greatest Generation”.
