

John J. Delger was born on September 27, 1932 to Lambert and Elizabeth Delger in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He graduated from Kalamazoo High School in 1951. He married Marjorie Dean DeBree on December 27,1952. Their first home was in Fairbanks, Alaska where John was stationed with the U. S. Army.
John and Marjorie raised three children in Parchment, Michigan. Darcy (Steve) Palmer, Holly (Tim) Kemp and David (Kim) Delger. John had a deep faith in Jesus and with Marjorie was a long time member of Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
John owned and operated his auto repair shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1964 - 1979. He was an
honest and reliable mechanic and had many loyal customers.
From 1979 - 1982 John and Marjorie worked at a school for troubled American teens in the Dominican Republic. John did repairs and upkeep on the school buildings. He also supervised building three houses and two school buildings. He loved trips to the ocean and the beautiful beaches there. Later, they retired to Lake Worth, Florida where he continued to enjoy the ocean. After the death of his wife, Marjorie, he lived with his daughter, Holly, in Colorado Springs, CO. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
