John Brett Renck, age 68, of Sterling, Alaska passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. John was born June 25, 1953 in Colorado Springs, CO to Ann and Owen Renck. He grew up in Security and Monument, CO. He was happily married to his beloved wife, Kristin Anne Renck. John and Kristin shared 16 years together. John was a sweet, gentle and kind man. He lived hard, worked hard and loved hard. He was a devoted husband, a dedicated father, a loving son, a faithful brother and uncle, a trusted colleague and a loyal friend. He always had a twinkle in his brown eyes, he had an infectious smile and a wicked sense of humor. John had a heart for helping others and was in AA for 33 years. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
John loved to catch salmon and halibut in the Alaskan Waters, watch football and spend time with his family and friends. John loved animals, especially moose. He loved to go dancing, gold panning, camping, hiking and anything outdoors. John loved Hawaii.
John is survived by his wife, Kristin, his son Colyn, stepchildren Tiffany, Brandon, and Angelina, mother Ann, stepdad Bill Simpson and his wife Cheryl, brother Russ and his wife Julie, step-sister Dawn Marie, grandchildren Angel and Mickell, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and his best friend Dennis and Peggy Owens. He is preceded in death by his father Owen, sisters Diann and Sandra, and niece Jessica.
A memorial service for John will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Mountain Community Mennonite Church, 63 CO-105, Monument, CO 80133.
